Jim graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 1974, cum laude; received a Masters of Business Administration from Gonzaga University in 1977; and graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1979, cum laude.
Admitted to practice in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Washington, June, 1980; admitted to practice before U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, December, 1985. He is a member of the Spokane County and Washington State Bar Associations. Jim's other affiliations include Washington State Association of Justice and the American Association for Justice.
